Go Brown Caps!!!!!!!!

So this week is the first week of the finals for the Mighty Brown Caps. Earlier in the week there was quite a bit of that wet stuff that falls from the sky, what's it called again? I think rain is the word I'm looking for. So hopefully the pitches were covered, or it's had a chance to dry out before tomorrow.

So good luck to the mighty BC's, win this week to go straight into the GF boys!!! Best of luck

My last webolutionary wost!!!

Well I have completed the webolution, who'd have thought this day would come? I have really enjoyed the process of the webolution, this program has provided us with the opportunity to discover and learn more about so many useful technologies.

KD has done a fantastic job setting this up for us, and making sure everyone completes it. Top job mate!!!!

Youtube

So the actvity for this was to find a video you would like to add to your blog. Well, you're gonna laugh if you watch this video, and you'll be thinking, man, Shanksie is insane. Guess what, I sure am.

I first heard part of this song in an email one of my Scottish rellies sent to my ma and pa, loved what I heard so had to find the whole song. I'll try and add it to my blog.

It's getting close to the end of the..............

So it's getting close to the end of the Webolution, and although I'm not finished yet, I am very close to it, and it will be done (just so I can see Josh)!!!!

Not only is it getting close to the end of the Webolution but it's also getting close to the end of cricket season, for the mighty Brown Caps, tomorrow sees the conclusion of the last game before finals. Now of course I haven't been raving about them all year for nothing, the Brown Caps are currently sitting on top of the ladder, and so in theory should be in the Grand Final at the end of the month.

I'm lucky that it just so happens my RDO is on the Friday before the GF, so hopefully they'll be there so KD and I can go watch.

Anyway best get back to webolution stuff before Clarky tells me off again!!!! Lol

Wiki

Well now I've been checking out the Wikis. I can see a few different ways that Wikis could fit into our service. They are great for setting up interaction between staff and customers for book reviews etc. Also they could be of benefit for staff sharing resources such as websites or useful books etc on a particular topic.

Tags and Technorati and all that stuff

So I had a quick look at delicious, and yeah looks pretty good. Also checked out technorati, good idea, not something I will pursue for my own blog though, I don't think anyone will go there and search for "The brwon caps". While I was having a play around did a search for Yahl and cricket (the Brown Caps actually also go by the name Yahl Cricket Club), and what a surprise, it appears the local Mt Gambier newspaper use technorati, because I got a few results from this search, I was surprised. So sorry its been more Brown Caps talk, but hey I know deep deep deep down you would all be disapointed if I did a post without mentioning them.

Check out my profile pic

Well guess what I did when I went home? I went out happy snapping around Mt Gambier and surrounds. While out happy snapping there was no way I could go past the chance to go out and get some piccis of the ground that the Mighty Brown Caps (officially known as the Yahl Cricket Club) call home. So you will notice that none of my photos have made it onto a slideshow on here yet, they will get there, but I still need to take a few more, maybe next weekend when I'm home.

Take special note of the bottom of the sign "Go Royal Yahl" sais it all really.

Cheers, and go the mighty Brown Caps, or should I say, Royal Yahl.

Home with the fam

At the moment I'm home in Mount Gambier spending some time with my fam. Of course though because it is the Christmas/New Year period there is no cricket being played, so no Brown Caps news to report.

Friday, December 12, 2008

Clarkey, you're gonna love this, it will make your day

Well KD and I made it to the Mount safe and sound. It rained pretty much the whole way, and hasn't really stopped since. So guess what? The cricket has been cancelled, its a washout!!!! Not happy, we had been hanging out to watch some cricket and its a no go.

No Brown Caps for us this weekend.

Not Happy

Well it's now 2 more sleeps til I go home, and I'm excited, can't wait to see my fam and friends again, but you would never believe whats happening in the Mount tomorrow night, Twenty20 cricket, thats what. And I can't go 'cos I dont go home 'til Friday morning, spewing!!!! KD and I could have had a great fun filled cricket weekend if it was Friday night, oh well, at least we still get to see the mighty Brown Caps in action on Saturday, fingers crossed for a win.

RSS etc

I'm really liking the news feeds, I have managed to set up a feed with the local Mount Gambier newspaper "The Border Watch", I think this is great because now I can keep an eye on the going ons, and not have to rely on my mum to tell me all, it usually gets to me, but sometimes it takes a while :-). There are so many different library bits and pieces out there we can subscribe to as well that will allow us to see whats happening in other areas.

Technology related?

I dont know if this really counts as a technology related post but oh well. As you may or may not know I am going home this weekend to see my fam and friends, road trip with KD, yippeeeee. I was just thinking about this and thinking beauty lots of opportunities to get more piccis of Zac (you can NEVER have too many piccis of Zac, such a smiley little boy he is), which leads me to digital cameras.

I never really wanted a digital camera, loved the whole not knowing what my photos would turn out like til I got them developed, there was anticipation there. But I gave in last year and I bought a digital camera just before Zac was born, figured it would be easier to email photos etc if I had a digital camera, and I am so glad I did.

I now am a huge fan of digital cameras because not only can I take my pictures, but I can also take video footage, and I love being able to watch this back at any time. The only problem is that I either forget to charge the batteries, or my memory card fills up, so tonight I will go home and charge the batteries, and find my memory cards (I'm pretty sure Ive unpacked them and know where they are), and get it all ready to put in my bag when I pack.

Yay for digital cameras!!!! Lol

Mashups and stuff

Found this site that allows you to creat letters from Santa, ooohhhh very exciting at this time of year I know. Very easy to use, gives you the option to just fill in the blanks or to write the whole thing yourself.

The Blue Lake, Mount Gambier

So here is a picci I found on Flickr. I know, I know I'm sooooo far behind in my webolution. Thought I'd better get a move on though since KDs threatening to not let me come to the half way party.

So here is the Blue Lake in good old Mount Gambier. This is what Katie will be getting up at 6am (victorian time, so 5:30 am south australian time) to walk around on Saturday morning with Stretch, while I stay tucked up in bed, ha ha KD, threaten to make me miss the party, lol!!! It's not a true party without Shanksie there!!!

I tried to find pictures of the mighty Brown Caps in action, but couldnt find any on Flickr, can you believe it? Didnt really find any cricket ones in Mount Gambier, whats with that? Where are the cricket fans I ask you???

Countdown

So it is now 3 sleeps til I go home and 4 til I see the might Brown Caps in action. Heres hoping KD and I can bring them some luck for the second day of the match and hopefully get a win. Actually I didnt ask my BB how they went last weekend (first day of the match) how awful of me, what kind of little sister am I?

The countdown is on

So the countdown is on til I get to go home for a weekend and see my fam, and watch BB and the mighty Brown Caps in action. I havent been home since August so it will be really good to see everyone again, plus I have to take my Chrissy presesnts home so they dont take up all my baggage allowance on the plane at christmas time. So how many sleeps you ask (well I know you dont really, but Im gonna tell you anyway) 8 sleeps til I go home and 9 sleeps til I get to see the cricket.

Go the mighty Brown Caps!!!!!!!
